🦇 “Night Flyers” Evening Bat Program with JoEllen Arnold May 10th 7pm SLP🦇
Are you curious about small furry mammals who wing their way into the night sky? They’re seen in our neighborhoods and along the rivers too. Would you like to meet them?

JoEllen Arnold, a volunteer with NorCal Bats, who does bat rescue and rehabilitation, will share her insights and experiences at a special evening event at Sutter’s Landing. JoEllen will bring live unreleasable education ambassador bats of at least three different local species for the evening and we hope to see their wild cousins as the night begins. She’ll guide us to the sandy river shore where we’ll watch bats emerge into the night sky and hear JoEllen’s stories and facts about the lives of bats.

Meet at the kiosk in the parking lot at 7:00PM, May 10th at SLP. Bring jackets, a flashlight, and plan to sit on the sandy beach (bring a beach blanket?) at sunset to watch and listen for bats heading out to forage. If you have small children who will be tempted to get wet, please bring a change of clothing for them as well.
