We are dusting off the pre-pup count after a hiatus, and will be holding the Great Yolo Causeway (pre-pup) Bat Count again this year. The event takes place the morning of June 3, 2023. Sign-ups have just been posted, and along with more info on the count, are available at the link below (short link included for ease of sharing). All are welcome to this community science field event.
Would you like to volunteer to help with this annual daytime count of one of the largest bat roosts in California? Your efforts will build on our population monitoring program and increase our knowledge of the ecology of this colony of insect-eating Mexican free-tailed bats (Tadarida brasiliensis).
All activities will be outdoors. We’ll send updates and logistical details to participants. We’ll offer orientations in advance to make sure your questions are answered. We can’t wait to see you!
