Birds and people will flock to Mare Island in Vallejo, California, to celebrate what has become a special annual ritual each winter: the San Francisco Bay Flyway Festival. The three-day event celebrates the return of over one million shorebirds and hundreds of thousands of ducks, geese, hawks, and songbirds that migrate through or winter in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The Flyway Festival is held at the peak of migration and that means the dead of winter in San Francisco Bay. So, rest assured, our festival will take place rain or shine!
After 3 years, its back In-Person for the Wildlife Expo headquartered on Mare Island. The Mare Island Co. has given the use of Building 34, again, in the heart of the historic Naval Shipyard. Join us again, for our traditional exhibitor booths, art show and live presentations. The pandemic had a silver-lining. In addition to returning to our In-Person Wildlfe Expo, we will re-air a curated group of pre-recorded presentations, video tours and outings and air some Live coverage of our In-person Wildlife
Expo and presentations, too. View the online schedule and find our combination of Facebook Live postings and pre-recordings in the Virtual Flyway Festival Facebook Group
