This is the website for NorCal Bats, where we post our original content that can include Information about our services, articles about bats, and other related information. Our website address is: https://norcalbats.org/
Contact forms
We have several variations of contact forms that you can use if you wish to send us a query. We collect only the information shown in that form. This information may be retained for an indefinite period of time, but it is only used in relation to the query that you send to us.
Newsletters
We have a newsletter subscription form that you can use to subscribe to our newsletter. We only collect the information shown in that form. This information may be retained for an indefinite period of time, but it is only used to send you an email newsletter. The newsletter is sent infrequently, and no more than once a month. It has an “unsubscribe” link that you can use to remove your information from our email list.
Cookies
The only cookies that might be used in this website are cookies from Google Analytics (to measure website traffic), as well as a few that are used by WordPress for security or to display this website in your browser properly.
Some tracking information may be collected by Google Analytics. We only see this in aggregate, we won’t see your detailed data. If you wish to opt out of Google Analytics tracking across the web, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Who we share your data with
We do NOT share your data with ANY third party, other than the following:
- PayPal: If there is a link to enter a payment, you will be directed to a PayPal website to complete the transaction. PayPal will retain some information. Note that we do NOT see or retain your payment information ourselves.
- Google: Some tracking information may be collected by Google Analytics. We only see this in aggregate, we won’t see your detailed data. See the note above under Cookies.
- Amazon and other third party selling websites: If there is a link to Amazon or similar websites, those websites will collect information if you make a purchase.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. If you subscribe to our newsletter we will retain your contact information until you unsubscribe.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
